The Original Home of Golf

Over 500 Courses Throughout the Country

Welcome to Scotland! The original home of golf. Indeed this is where it all began well over six hundred years ago. A place that will forever remain special for those who have traveled to her shores to tee it up on a true Scottish links course.

No other country in the world has quite the same relationship with the game of golf as Scotland, and our golf experiences capture the best of everything. With over 500 courses throughout the country, it is often a prominent part of the landscape and community. St. Andrews and Carnoustie to name a couple of well-known communities are situated around the city centre.

The golfing events calendar in Scotland is a very busy one, with a range of competitions from the club level matches and regional golf weeks right up to major international occasions like the Open Championship, returning to Royal Troon in 2016 and Carnoustie in 2018.

With so much to experience in this beautiful country, it can be hard to choose. As much as Scotland is “the home to golf” it is also the origin of some of the world’s finest Scotch. Include a distillery tour, explore a castle and the stunning scenery throughout this rugged country.

Sometimes the best part of being away from home is discovering new temptations, and for the discerning visitor Scotland delivers fresh and exceptional culinary experiences at every turn. Here is a land seemingly designed for gourmets. Rushing crystal streams, tranquil lochs and fertile earth yield a natural bounty. Just as important is the warmth of Scottish hospitality and genuinely warm welcome that they have always been known for.
