Home to Some of the Most Spectacular Golf Courses in the World

Florida is home to the World Golf Hall of Fame

Although golf was invented in Scotland, it didn’t take long for before its influence crossed the Atlantic Ocean. Today, America is home to some of the most spectacular golf courses in the world.

Florida hosts many PGA and LPGA events and is home to the World Golf Hall of Fame. From the Jacksonville to the Keys, there are close to a 1000 courses to choose from, all within short distances to world famous attractions, resorts and beaches. There is always plenty to do for the entire family on a Florida golf vacation. Whether you’re a golfer or not, you’ll have many choices to keep yourself busy such as award winning Spa facilities, children’s Activities, fine dining or just pure relaxation. You can’t beat Florida for a cost effective weekend escape from the frigid temperature in the north.

Golf in the west is absolute heaven with grand destinations such as Pebble Beach, Torrey Pines, San Diego’s Aviara Resort, Palm Springs, and Scottsdale’s many desert courses. Pebble Beach is a dream experience for most avid golfers and is nothing short of spectacular. California’s most southern city, San Diego offers great golf as well as some of the nicest beaches in the country. Scottsdale’s surrounding courses are amidst the most beautiful mountain ranges anywhere and let’s not forget Las Vegas! A city that truly never sleeps.

Among other great golf destinations are Oregon’s Bandon Dunes, which comes, as close to Scottish links golf, you will feel like you’re actually in Scotland. Grassy dunes rolling toward the rugged shoreline combined with all the elements, make this what golf is meant to be.

Whistling Straits at Kohler is another traditional links course located on the shores of Lake Michigan. Both the Straights and Irish courses have hosted the PGA Championship and Palmer Cup and are ranked among the best in the country. Great shopping and a relaxed atmosphere make Kohler a world-class destination.
